View Full Profile

Malakhi born T. Rashad Rankin on June 15 1981 on the North side of Jacksonville , Fl is one of the few reality-rappers that can write rhymes without profanity. When he blesses the microphone, Malakhi as he is affectionately know in Jacksonville, FL drops words so full of wisdom that he makes a person wonder how a young man learned so much knowledge. "I look at life like an older person," explains the 24-year-old rapper. "I think five or ten years older because of whom I've been with all my life."

He listened religiously to popular rappers like Public Enemy, X-Clan, and KRS-1. But Malakhi did more than just listen to his favorite rappers; he was constantly penning his own rhymes, dreaming that someday he would make it. His day came sooner than expected when a friend introduced him to To The Top Entertainment CEO and founder Patricia Anderson.

Malakhi made his first appearance as a solo artist in 1997 in the local circuit in Jacksonville, FL. Carmelita Terry

-BIOGRAPHY-

Combine a traditional sound with a contemporary flair in any setting and you will have Carmelita Terry, a gifted and anointed vocalist. Carmelita Terry debuts with her first solo project entitled “I Give You Praise”.

“I Give You Praise” was produced by Stellar Award Winner, GRAMMY-Nominated Producer/Artist & Label Executive Troy Sneed (CEO of Emtro Gospel).  “I Give You Praise” is a musical journey of traditional and contemporary songs that will capture the hearts of God’s people and challenge them to move to a higher level in HIM.

Carmelita was born with the sounds of music planted in her soul.  Growing up in a small town in Florida, she often heard her ‘momma and grandma humming and singing around the house and that inspired her to sing.  Hailing from a musically inclined family, Carmelita quickly blossomed into a singer as she sang at many gatherings with her brothers and sisters. Singing a song would always make her feel as if things weren’t that bad. The more knowledge she gained about God and the affects of music, the more she realized that songs had power.  A song would make her feel strong though she was weak; happy when she was sad.  When Carmelita needed to hear a word from God or get through a difficult situation, strength often came through a song.

To hear this album is definitely a spiritual treat. Carmelita opens this project up with the true spirit of Christ in the soothing worship song of “Welcome” that will usher you into His presence. Carmelita’s soul stirring energetic traditional flavor is evident on the classic remake of “Take Me Back” written by Grammy Award Winning Andre Crouch while “Making A Way” showcases her strong vocal ability that seems endless as she moves to the up-tempo church rocking selection of “Down In My Soul”.

Carmelita has been blessed to open up for Prophetess Juanita Bynum, Pastor Darlene Bishop and she is currently appearing in the national televised commercial for Maxwell House Coffee (Kraft Foods). Carmelita is a member of New Covenant Ministries in Jacksonville, FL under the leadership of Bishop Wiley and Dr. Jeana Tomlinson. She is also an active member of the Praise Team/Choir.

Carmelita’s sincere desire is to praise, uplift and glorify God.

Carmelita is now touring throughout the southeast.  If you are interested in having Carmelita minister at your church or next event, please call Kishia Kimbrough @ (904) 772-1490.
