Aisling Millar was born in
Dublin, in 1982 and immigrated to the in August 1994.She is presently residing in
Jacksonville, Florida where she is an Art Teacher at
Lake Forest
Elementary School of the Arts.
She received her Bachelors of Art Education from the University of North Florida (UNF) in 2005 and is currently attending UNF seeking a second Bachelors of Fine Arts in Ceramics and Sculpture, after which she plans on working towards her Masters in Fine Arts.
She has worked with Art with a Heart to promote the Healing Process at Wolfon’s Children’s Hospital, the
Ponte
Vedra
Cultural
Center , and Young Rembrandts.She has lead a painting workshop at the Seaside Playgarden and has been teaching private lessons to talented young artists in the
Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra area for the past three years.
She has had her work on display at the
University of
North Florida (
Jacksonville ),
Florida
Community College (
Jacksonville ), Wolfon’s Children’s Hospital (
Jacksonville ), The Center for the Arts (
Vero Beach ) and the Tiger Lilly Studio (
Vero Beach ).She has completed many commissioned murals and portraits for individuals and businesses in
Florida over the last 7 years.
She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, National Educators Association, the Florida Art Educators Association, Duval Art Teachers Association, and the Duval County Teachers Union, as well as a board member of the Jacksonville Coalition of the Visual Arts.
In 2000 she was awarded the Kris Wardlaw Scholarship for the Center of the Arts (
Vero Beach ).
In 2003 and 2004 she was awarded the Elizabeth Edgar Hall Scholarship (
Jacksonville ).
In 2007 she was awarded a DATA Scholarship (
Jacksonville ).
Aisling currently works at the Visual Arts teacher at
Lake Forest
Elementary School of the Arts in Jacksonville Fl.
