Artist Bio
Background: Born in Albuquerque New Mexico. With Georgia Okeefe's essence all around me, at the tender age of 3 my father began to train me with crayon to pencil, then pastel and chalk drawing fundamentals. I have been active in art my whole life. I attended 7 years of extra curricular art driven activities which led to an art scholarship. Once in college I received my A.A.; majoring in Psychology w/ a minor in Art. My goal was to facilitate art therapy with children. However, life seems to take us in other directions than we expect. Currently I am a stay at home mother with my small freelance business on the side. I specialize in custom and replica commission pieces.
Experience and achievements: I have attended more shows and festivals than I can count. I have various pieces of art in several parts of the world including mainland US, Brazil, Czech Republic, and Serbia. I have also participated for several years in a row as a face painter for Special Olympics Athletes (which I can never express how honored I am to have to be a part of that organization). Unknown by many I was the 1994 Scholastic Art Silver Key recipient for a Pen and Ink at UCF. I am part of the Working Artist Project with the Chroma Atelier paint company. I also have contributed designs for production of billiard accessories and furniture that has been manufactured and sold.
My mediums are: Pen and Ink, Graphite and Colored Pencil, Chalk and Charcoal, Pastel, Acrylic, Oil, Tempra, Water color paints, Ceramics, and Scratchboard. I also have Mural and Sign/ Window front advertisement/design experience. I am open to learning more, and if anyone has a new desire, i'll tackle it.
My Trademark is: mixed media with implematation of collage and hiding the names of my works recipients in it.
