Julia E. Landon Middle School Reviews

Since the school has become a magnet I have seen positive changes. I feel students should have time to go to there lockers and enough time to use the restrooms. so much conttrol as if the students are in elementary school will not prepare them for the real school environment. they are in middle school lets treat them like that. I am not satisfied that they have seperated the new students from the old students. this can look like it is a racial thing. Parents need to open there eyes and see what is going on . All the students should be integrated. is there a reason why they are not? There are black classes and then there are white classes. Is this how are school system is runned by staff without any questions. Prove me wrong. Hopefully next year this will not be the same agenda with our students.

Being a new Magnet school I think they are doing very well and I look forward to even more important over the next couple of years.

As being a student at Landon Middle has been a fun experience and I had alot of good times there as well. The progress has been growing everyday. I think this is a wonderful school!

There seems to be a communication problem with the administration to the parents. Talking with the staff sometimes seems pointless. The problems start from the main office all the way down to the coaching., I have tried to become involed with the school, but can not get over the frustration.

I have never had my child in a school with more fights, more tempers or worse surroundings. The staff do not seem to have a grip on the enviroment nor do I feel even secure sending my child to this school. The teachers and children alike are all on edge. If the students werent so worried about what is around them within the walls of the school perhaps the school would be graded better.

My daughter attended Landon during the 2004-2005 school year, and we were disappointed with the lack of supervision the students have. It was easy for her to get lost in the crowd. I did not feel likeit was safe for her.

My daughter attended Landon for 6th and 7th grade. I, too, regret that she had to attend this school. I have spent my last two years fighting with the school about homework, allowing students to 'make up' the work at the end of each grading period, harrassment from other students, not being notified when my child was struck in the head by another student, and the general lack of concern by the principal and staff for the students. On another note, I was totally appalled after attending an awards ceremony at the school. I can't tell you how many grammatical errors and mispronounced words came out of the principals mouth. I do not consider her a very good role model for the children. If possible, I'd find another school to put your child in. Luckily mine won't be going there this school year. Thank God for the magnet program!

My daughter was a 6 grade student at Landon.I regret the fact she had to attend this school. The harrassment she has experienced from some of the students and one staff memeber in particular is awful. I am constantly at the school following up on her grades and behavior. I am a concerned parent that is very involved with my daughter's academics. The lack of support from the staff is appalling.I don't think she will be attending school there next year, because I dont' believe that a child should have to indure some of the verbal and physical attacks that my daughter has. And when a parent has to chase down school staffing for support of a child there is clearly a large gap in the link between the system and the parents.
