S Bryan Jennings Elementary School Reviews

The School and faculty are absolutely wonderful, However I am 'VERY' unhappy with the Principal Mr. Archibald. I am a parent of a child with learning disabilities. In the past two years we have had several issues with BULLYING on the school bus, and at school. Mr Archibald has been of no help to us, and always makes me feel like I am the offender, rather than the parent of the victim of bullying. Well, I now take my son to school and burn my own gas, instead of him having to take the bus and be harassed The few times my son has stuck up for himself he has been called to the office and was reprimanded. The reason I haven't switched schools is because my son has a trust between himself and his teachers. My sons teachers are exceptional, but I am NOT a fan of double standards!

My son has attended SBJ for 5 years and we think its a great school.

SBJ has been great with their academic programs. The school has quality teachers. Parent involvement is average. Extracurricular activities are available. The student to teacher ratio is low which is an avantage to both the teacher and the student. The teachers do show that they care about their students academics.

I am so greatful to have my daughter in this school. Its her first year and I thought since she didnt go to preschool until she was 4 almost 5 and that she was shy would hurt her in school. But I was so blessed to have the teacher that she did. Her teacher took time out to get to know her and I am amazed at how much she has learned. They are very good with everything from beginning to end. Especially since I work full time and can't always be there for her, I am glad to know that I can communicate with the teacher in email as well. I am so happy that she is doing so well and will continue to do so. Her teacher even picked out next years teacher based on my daughters needs.

My daughter attended the school for 2 years; it was an amazing experience, especially because I was apprehensive about public schools. The teachers and curriculum are at a high standard and students are very much encouraged to be at their best full-time. Parents and teachers are communicating effectively and they know your child! The school actively seeks parent involvement and offers great rewards programs for the kids: every Friday a good student is awarded a 'goodie' which in turn drives them to participate more. The school has music and art to enhance your child's creativity - an artist of the week is picked and their work placed in the cafeteria for everyone to see. There are several court of awards per year and the PFA is very active throughout the year.

My children have attended SBJ for the last four years and my overall opinion is a positive one. The administration and teachers are supportive and very accessible. Disciplinary issues are handled swiftly and fairly with importance placed on overall safety. SBJ provides many and diverse after school programs. The children are encouraged to succeed and their successes are recognised and celebrated.
