Baldwin Middle-Senior High School Reviews

When I first came to Baldwin last year,I dreaded it.When I gave it a chance, it has shown me what I could get out of life. The teachers are really nice and respectful to us students, the school stays clean, and It's a safe environment.Of course, like many teens,I think we should be allowed to have the PDA privledge as long as it stays to a minimum. In conclusion,Baldwin is an amazing school and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to make a healthy difference in their lives.

Its so so strict and kids dont have fun while learning and no school sprit

I have attended baldwin middle senior high since the sixth grade.Since then there has been a dramatic increase in the amount of students that attend baldwin. In alot of the reviews theyre complaining about overcrowding. But they havent said why theres alot of kids. Its because their schools have recieved f grades so they can attend the school of their choice, and baldwin was chosen by them. I would never switch to another school. Its crowded and in one case there was a class that had two teachers not three i was in that class and still did just fine in it. Baldwin doesnt have to worry about drug trafficing, shootings,or any other kind of danger nearly as much as other schools in duval county.Im involved in many clubs and they offer alot they do what they can to make sure we graduate.Consider baldwin its amazing.

At this school students are provided with the kind of rigorous instruction you hope your child receives in school. This school has committed itself to increasing student achievement for every student that walks through the threshhold. If a teacher is unsure how to reach a student, he/she will find another teacher or adult who can reach that student. Teachers here absolutely want to see their students succeed and help them on that path.

teachers are always on leave or vacation

Its the second day so far this year. First time of my girls in public system. they think its great. I have been in touch with the main office from the beginning, and so far all my emails and questions had been answer. The only problem is the distance. But a good school is worth the ride.

My child attended Baldwin for the first time last year. It was a terrible experience. In one class he had three different teachers throughout the year with three differnt teaching styles. It kept the kid's totally confused. They did not have enough text books in any of his classes. The teachers where unorganized and impatient with the children. Speaking to a human is practically impossible due to the countless voice mail extensions... no one calls back. The school is over crowded... By the time the children get through the lunch line they have to scarf thier food down like ravenous wolves, and forget making it through the restroom line. No time to wait before the bell rings! The teachers also show nepotism towards thier own children. Please do not send your child to Baldwin! You will regret it.

This has been the most horrible school that any of my 3 children have attended. The Duval county school scores could not be more accurate. The administrative staff were noncommunicative regarding my children and were unhelpful at best. But, very hasty in discipline for minor infractions and once attempted to suspend one of my children without investigating for factual information. The coaching staff are there for the right reasons. I was unable to determine what the goal was regarding Administration and why they work with children.

Baldwin is an excellent school with some of the best teachers in the country who care about each child, the principal is amazing she truly cares for the success of each student. Baldwin may be small but it is by far the best run school in Duval county. Some do not like Dr. Richardson the principal but keep in mind she runs the school not a popularity contest, she pushes each student to strive for best.

Baldwin high school is a horrible school that is unoranized and low budgeted the teachers are unhelpful and the classes are cramped and pointless the students learn nothing. The campus does not have enough buildings and the lunchroom is small, i would not ever reccomend sending your child to Baldwin they will not like it and neither will you.

I have been going to Baldwin ever since I was in the 6th grade. I am now in the 10th grade, and am still enjoying it as always. I LOVE the environment that they provide and like mostly all of my teachers. Baldwin is a great place to go no matter what people say!

Everyone knows everyoen and is usually helpful until they get to know them then they judge them. Must students that transfer to Balwin end up transfering out. It is a small school but we do have too many students and not enough buildings. Most of the stadd is helpful but when my parents called it took them a little over a week to get back with them, and then another week to get acomplished what we needed. If you're worried about large class sizes then put your child in honors classes. I'm in them and in some of my classes there were about 12 of us in there. For high school students choose AP. Baldwin is a wonderful school for a small town family. If you're coming form a big town your child probably will not like it and want to transfer.

Baldwin is the best place for my child to be, he really enjoys all the different clubs and sports he can get involved in. There honestly can't be anywhere better in the world.

Baldwin is the best school I have ever been to, I cannot imagine anywhere better.

This is my sons first year and I have never seen teachers that were so unorganized. And adminastration that wont even return a parents phone call. If I can he will not be going there for very long. Also they do not even have enough books for all the kids so the tell you go on the internet, some people do not have the internet.

My daughter is in 6th. Yes, I agree with the displine that these kids are getting although It is up to the parents to make sure that these kids stay on the straight and narrow as they are put on the bus or taken to school for the day. I do appreciate the fact they might be trying to turn this school around.

This is my son's second year at Baldwin and I am definetly pulling him out as soon as I find another school, the schools in Duval are pretty bad! The disipline that the kids get for the most smallest infractions is rediculous, the principal wants to make all students an example by shipping them off to an alternative school, Obviously they are to overwhelmed with the responsibility of teaching the kids. And are terribly understaffed. If they replaced the Principle and hired more teachers, it would be a much better place.

I have been attending baldwin since 6th grade.Im currently a freshman and I have to say that ever since the new principal has been here this school has gone completely downhill.

The average class size for this school is 40. My son sat in a class of 51 students. The overall cleanliness of the school is horrible and student safety (Or should I say lack of) is a big issue. Based on the overcrowding and safety issues, I have pulled my son out of this school and I urge you to do the same before your child falls too far below the Florida state standard to be considered for a college education.

I have had a horrible experience since my daughter has been in this school. The school grounds are nasty and the teacher show no interest in the children. This has got to be the worst school in duval county!

I have looked into this school for my daughter and have found the staff extremely helpfull and willing to spend the time to answer all of my questions.

From the outside this school looks more quaint than modern, but looks are deceptive. This school is one of the best combination middle school and high school that I have ever seen. The teachers are knowledgeable and friendly. The administration stands up for the school and its needs. The afterschool programs are plentiful and some border on spectacular. The marching band went to the state compitition two years in a row and went from less than 20 students to more than 70. Parents are encouraged to become involved and the school has the most parent volunteer hours of any school its size in the state of Florida. All in all a wonderful school with wonderful teachers.

Baldwin is one of the best schools I have been to. Even though this is my first year attending Baldwin I think it is one of the best because I have been to high schools all over from california to Arizona, and I think it rates up with one of the best. The teachers are great and so is the rest of the staff at baldwin, the curricculum is really good and the courses they offer are great. It may not be much and the school may be small but baldwin is filled with big hearts to make up for it, not to mention all of the determination at the school.

This is my sons first year at Baldwin. So far it has been wonderful. The teachers actually care about your children. If anything is happening they call as soon as possible. I have never had a problem in Baldwin period. It is a good environment for all kids.

Its a small town school with the best teachers and a great new principal. The band program is top notch!

I really love Baldwin Middle/Senior High, the teachers as well as the staff are outstanding in get invovled with the students. I've never seen such a well rounded well disiplined school. My youngest daughter is in band and loves it, my son plays football, and my oldest daughter is in National Honors, I'm so thankful to have Baldwin. Good Indians!!:)

Baldwin has the best teachers that truly care about students - thank you teachers and staff! Also the best band around!
