“FIND ANOTHER MAGNET SCHOOL!!! This school does not know what is going on. the kids are disrespectful, the teachers are as clueless as the students. For graduating seniors information is not available till the last minute or the information is obtained from a fellow student. Meetings are not anouonced in a timely matter to arrange for after school transportation or for attendence. For those in the Honor Society their names were not submitted to the photographer who is taking pictures so needless to say Honors are not reconized. Senior class rings are not given till January of the senior year. The Senior advisor not informed about senior events by the higher echilion until the last minute. Overall this school is very unorganized and uninformed which creates major frustrations for students and parents. Teacher turn over rate is high in the middle of the school year. Guidance is good!”

“This is not a good school at all. My child has had nothing but problems at this school”

“My child attends the Construction Academy at A.P.R. and we are pulling my child out this week because the school is failing to follow through with what we were exspecting to get from this experience. My child has come to hate going to school because of the constant misrepresention from the staff and teachers, my child has had to have the schedule redone several times each year just to get the classes that my child was told he/she could take to get the certificates he/she was promised. If you are thinking of putting your child in this school to help them make a career goal please think of another career or another school that may offer the same career goals!”

“If you are thinking about sending your child here, think hard. This school does have great programs for your child but nonetheless, it isn't worth sending your child to. The kids and teachers have the i-dont-care attitude and I don't feel they are pushing the kids to learn anything.”

“This is an excellence high school to send your child to. I know because I graduated from here in 2007. This school is growing and it is a joy to attend. This school is like every other high school because you have those who want to succeed and those who do not but, it's only up to the student what they really want in life. This school does not have many sports or clubs that the only down fall and the coursework here can be challenging but it a really fun school. I will tell anyone to come here because you cannot get a diploma and a trade at any other school. Here you are equipped for the future and around people who care.”

“This is a pretty good school! At timed it can be a little boring but overall its okay but the teachers are okay... some of them are a little too controlling and at times very mean! Ms. M. Harris is the best teacher (she teaches English)! I love her class! But I dislike the pricipal: Dr. Tiscornia.”

“My son is in his third year at this school as of 2005. Both my wife and I love this school and the facutly. Each year we ask him 'Who is your best friend?' and he answers with the name of a teacher or staff member of the school. I can not state how much the staff of this school works with the students to help them get the education they want. Our second son is applying to go to this school also. He wants to take advantage of the Technology academy, the same academy our older son is in. Both Daniel and Jason know the value in this type of education.”

“I think that this school needs to start things early and do what they say they are going to do for the kids but it is over all a well- rounded school and there are a few good teachers that care and work hard and the one that stands out is mr.Schick.”

“The tech academy is continuing to get better. For 11th grade, my son is taking Sequel and C Sharp and Windows NT and that is great for him. The thing I am still waiting to hear about is the intern positions during their summer that were talked about. If those opportunities arise, then A. Phillip Randolph will have deleivered on their promises to the tech academy.”

“I think that Dr. Tiscornia is a wonderful woman. She provides these kids with inspiration and hope. This school is great.”

“In regards to the situations at APR, i think the new principal will change many things to come for this school.... Dr. T is a very caring woman and also takes the the childrens interests in as well as the parents. APR will be a better school yet.”

“hi yes i don`t agree with what most say about this school our school opens so many doors for students from a promise of a job after you graduate to skills that oter high school students do not recive i`m in the 11th grade and i can make $12.00 a hour being a working as a nursing assiant and the kids are like other kids some will be bad apples but if you look for trouble you will find it but if you work hard and stay on task i promise it will change your life”

“This school is a very disorganized and unpleasant place that you shall every hear about. Most of the students are very disrespectful and have no concern or regard for their fellow students and even the teachers themselves. Mostly everything that is promised will eventually take longer then they say it would take. An illusion of future guaranteed success is all that this school has to offer. The grade of this school speaks for itself. It may not be the teachers or faculties at fault but when the students don't care enough about their education to at least attempt score an average percentage on the fcats.Then it's not a place for an impressionable eager young mind with the will to want to learn and expand his or her horizons to be enrolled in such a school.”
