Mandarin Oaks Elementary School Reviews

We were at a private Christian school for 2 years and we assumed our son was getting the best education there. Come to find out, it was sub-par, he was threatened and beat up and administration did nothing about it. We had no other choice but to take him out and 'try' our public school. We enrolled both our son's at MOE and find that our older son (the one who was at the private school) was slightly behind academically After the first 9 weeks, my son's teacher took such an interest in him and now he is making A's and B's. Our other son can not wait to go to MOE every day. In kindergarten, he is learning narrative writing vs. functional writing, estimation skills, and interpreting graphs. I have to say, if we stayed at the private school, our kindergartner wouldn't be coming home with these impressive comments.

My twin boys went to kindergarten this year at Mandarin Oaks and I'm pretty happy with the school. I never got to see the principal, but the assistants do a great job. Mrs. Troy is really nice. I had been told that the staff at the office was snobish. That's so not true! They're always friendly and helpful. I also have to give the hands up to the staff at park & pick up. They seem to always be in a good mood!!! Also, we were blessed to have Ms. Bergeron as one of my kid's teacher. She is wonderful! The kind that goes the extra mile!!

This school is wonderful. My son has been at this school since k. They are always willing to help and the teachers and staff go out of there way to help each student.

The school is a very nice school but if you need extended care that program is weak and i might suggest getting extended day care outside of the school environment.

If your child is average or above this is a good school. Unfortunately, after becoming an involved parent, I found politics to contribute to the success of many students at this school. Too much emphasis on FCAT scores and not enough on individual educational needs of students.

My daughter was no where near the level she should of been when entering the first grade. we came from Washington state and she has a bit of a speach problem. After just one year with Ms. Stillson, Ms. Rockwell and her speach teacher she is reading better than before. She has really enjoyed every day spent at Mandarin Oaks. Also every staff member there is always courteous and we feel real comfortable with her enrollment there. We really love this school and the encouragement the teachers give their students.

I think the administration and the faculty do a tremendous job. My oldest son is very happy in his class and is clearly learning a great deal. Please keep up the great work!

My oldest a junior in high school and received an excellent education at Mandarin Oaks. Teachers are very dedicated to making sure every student is successful. My youngest attends now and also has wonderful teachers. Several teachers come in early and stay late to tutor students. Parents are welcome and there are many that volunteer their time. An excellent school that has received an A and deserves it!

An Excellent School! We relocated from New York and was very pleased to find out how wonderful this school really is. The teachers are wonderful, and up to date with all the standards set in place. I think the level of extracurricular activities is plenty, being as the education in the classroom comes first. We have had two children attend this school, and have been very content with the teachers they have had. Their education and learning experience at Mandarin Oaks fully exceeded our expectations. Bravo! Parents are encouraged to visit and have lunch with their children in the lunch room, an added plus. I am glad to see the concerns of safety for the students being addressed as of recent. You must sign into the office, and have a special pass to proceed inside the school. As it should be. Our children's safety comes first. Praise for Mandarin Oaks!

This is my sons 5th year at this school and out of 5 teachers he has only had 2 really good ones and they have left. My son has struggled all 5 years and I do not feel like he has recieved enough help. I think that each classroom has too many children which results in children that need a little extra help falling further behind. I am currently looking for a new school with teachers that are willing to really help a child with their educational needs.

Although quite a bit of the extracurricular activities at this school are for the upper grades only, it is still very student-oriented. Uncorrupted by political pressures, the student is the first concern. With the new Principal & Vice Pricipal in place, this finally shows through. They welcome and encourage parents and family members to participate in their students education and future.
