Jacksonville Florida Art

We are pleased to announce that we will be making a stop in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday, June 18, 2017, for the annual Jacksonville Art Festival. The Jacksonville Arts Festival, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, is organized on behalf of the City of Jacksonville.

The Public Places Committee of Art will have access to the Sustainability Restorer, who will also review the design. The artist's design is selected by a nine-member art selection committee made up of members of the Board of Directors of the Jacksonville Arts Festival (APP), the City of Jacksonville Art Commission and the Art Conservator. After being reviewed by the city's restorers and staff, a jury will consider each proposal for the art selection and make a recommendation to an APP committee for final approval. The further jury work will be based on the proven experience of the artists as well as their CV and reference letter.

Once the Commission has implemented the Artist Agreement, the final selected team of artists will be invited to Jacksonville for required site visits, design team meetings (including other possible interactions with the school) and design proposal discussions. The restoration team, commissioned by the Art of Public Places, will first review the designs and proposals and consult with artists and APP staff.

The artists and team selected for each of the two project categories or a combination of categories will be required to execute an artist agreement in accordance with the CCGJ regulations for works of art. The finalists will be selected on the basis of the criteria set out in the call for proposals for the qualification and submission of artists. The works of art representing the categories comprising the submitted images will be evaluated first. Preference was given to works of art that include a mixture of traditional and contemporary art, as well as contemporary and modern art.

Please note that in some cases, the selected artists and artist teams are also expected to create an engaging feeling of place in the neighborhood. Artists and teams of artists who wish to create public art on the site should consider a consolidated approach to the entire neighbourhood project. In order to fulfil the civic responsibility of the CCGJ and the city and to promote and develop a positive and lively public space within the built environment and in the public space, we need to create public spaces such as public parks, parks and playgrounds.
